Mobo Settings guide?

You mean the Rojak's BIOS Optimization Guide?

that's why i asked for this one specifically.... i can rely on it... trust it...

last time i saw it was when you posted about it.... when i browsed through it.. i added it to my favorites.... then the system crashed... lost it.... never thought about it till i decided to actually start tweaking my computer....

all i've done is left it on defaults.... or "configure by speed"

i'm starting to play... i'll let you all know how far i get....

it appears.... due to my mobo have a 5:1:1 ratio... i can't push the barton any further then 2250mhz.... damn pci slots..... a well... that's all with stock cooling.... so i'm happy with a barton 2500+ at 3200+ with only a 166fsbX13.5.... i did get alot more outa my ram though..... everything at it's tightess... cas 2.5..... (well just about tightest)

here's better indepth...

Barton 2500+ @ 3200+ (2250mhz using 166FSBx13.5) @1.7Volts On stock retail Cooling
Abit AT7-MAX2
2x512Mb PC2700 Cas 2.5 Azen Ram Memory

Would boot and run in at 166fsbx14 AND 15..... but i think i need more power... the temps never went above 53*C (due to me using that exact number for alarm.. and 55*C for auto shutdown)

Anyone wanna give me more tips.... feel free to provide...

Timings and MemCore?

I bet you can squeeze more FSB out of that memory. The memory isn't limitting you. 166 MHz or DDR333 is what your memory should be able to provide. Could you list some of your Memory Timings and the current voltage for the RAM?

Also try updating the BIOS to the latest version. It may help. I remember the limiting factor of my O/C was the BIOS for awhile.

OK.... here's the indepth view of the memory:

i have 2 sticks of PC2700 Cas 2.5 166mhz (333) DDR ram (512mb each) packaged by AZEN and actually made by Cosair.. (i think... check spelling)

Current settings and the list of changeable stuff straight from my bios:

Current FSB 166
Current DRAM 166
DRAM Clock 166
DRAM TIMING SELECTABLE: Manual
CAS Latemcy Time:2.5
BANK INTERLEAVE: 4 Bank
Precharge to Active (Trp):2T
Active to Precharge (Tras):6T
Active to CMD (Trcd):2T
DRAM BURST LENGTH:8
DRAM QUEUE DEPTH:4 LEVEL
DQS DRIVE STRENGTH: AUTO
DDR DQS INPUT DELAY: AUTO
+INPUT ELAY VALUE: 24 (edit... not changeable enless i change the above one to manual)
DDR DQS OUTPUT DELAY:AUTO
+OUTPUT DEALY VALUE:40 (edit... not changeable enless i change the above one to manual)
MD DRIVE STRENGTH: AUTO
+DRIVE VALUE: 00 (edit... not changeable enless i change the above one to manual)
DIMM1-4 CMD DRIVE CONTROL: AUTO
+DIMM1&2 CMD DRIVE: 00 (edit... not changeable enless i change the above one to manual)
+DIMM3&4 CMD DRIVE: 00 (edit... not changeable enless i change the 2nd above one to manual)
DRAM ACCESS: 3T
ENCHANCE DRAM PERFORMANCE: ENABLED
DRAM COMMAND RATE: 2T COMMAND
WRITE RECOVERY TIME: 3T
DRAM tWTR: 3T
DCLK OUTPUT DELAY: 0 ps

now the DDR voltage is in a different place...

Currently it says 2.55V
Directly above it... i've changed the CPU CORE VOLTAGE to 1.700V

My RATIO (FSB:AGP:PCI) is set at : 5:2:1

this is as high as it'll go... I can bump the fsb up... but not without the memory not working write...or something.... my mobo is designed with 2.3ghz as the limit (i'm guessing nothing beyond that would be really considered....)

Mostly... i think the FSB pumping.. and it failing to work is do to this board being so bloody loaded with features.... i know i can get alot more out of the system if i adjust this... but.... i can't.... new a different mobo to do it.....

I have the latest for the mobo.... check again... ABIT AT7-MAX2 Bios version EB

THANKS ALOT if you can sorta out what the DRAM bios options i listed mean... and what i can do to make it better...
