Wink Intel P4 2.4c Overclock: Tips? & Recommendations?

Well, Ok, first P4 system I am about to build, I heard that the 2.4c's can OC well

Mobo: ASUS P4P800
Memory: Corsair XMS Twin Pack (256mb x 2) 3200

So, what can I do to hit the most with these? and what can I expect to hit?

Also, which heatsink is worth it for this cpu to OC well?

BTW, Vantec Iceberg Copper Chipset worth using for this motherboard's chipset?

PSU: Antec 430 Truepower is what I have.

Hitting at least

3.0 GHz with 5:4 divider...you might not even need to use the 5:4 divider.

well do you think it's possible with the stock cooler and stock chipset cooler?

Get something reasonably decent like the Vantec Aeroflow at least for that CPU. Thermalright makes some damned good CPU coolers too. Chipset cooler should be okay.

To acheive a real powerful overclock you should look at the following:

A Thermalright SP-94 CPU cooler:

A Swiftech MCX159-P chipset cooler:

A 2.4c with that setup could possibly, if you are lucky acheive 300fsb at a 3:2 ratio, DDR400.

Get a Zalman CNPS7000A-CU CPU cooler, very effective and so quiet you'll be wondering if the fan has stopped.

As for the chipset cooler, first try to figure out what is the limit of your cpu, if you go over 270 MHz probably a more efficient chipset cooler is a good idea.
Not all the 2.4C can get to 3.2GHz but most of them do.

Good luck!
