Which PSU brand to buy?
Just worked out that my poor psu is struggling for juice, and so I plan on Monday to grab myself a 450 or 550 watt PSU. The question is; what is a good make to get, I know nothing about brand names for PSU's!!
Thanks
Funky

The case is nice although PSUs that come with them are usually very low quality. I say get a case without a PSU and throw in a 400w+ Enermax or Antec psu.

Enermax or PC power and cooling. PCpnc is about 30$ more, but they are much more agressive with their ratings on the PSU. I have 2 350s from them and they both put out more power than the antec 410 or 430, I forgot which. Enermax is almost as good though.

why? I have always been disapointed by them. Sure they are better than alot of generics, but they get owned by enermax and PCpnc PSUs.

You might also try Sparkle they are dirt cheap compare to the other ones, I have 350watt and I am running three hd's, ati 9700pro, two cd-roms, five fans inlcuding the cpu fan with no problems and my lines are 3.33-4.92-11.90

Enermax, Antec, Enlight, or Kingwin. They are all top-tier and won't do you wrong
I use a Kingwin myself and I love it.

Hey Monkey this should some it up for you. Just look at my sig. 8 Tornado fans, and all listed, plus 2 cathiod lights. Now thats power. Not many PSUs can run all that.
Like i said Enermax Baby.

I dont like my Antec TruePower 430W too much, I mean its dual fanned and you can barely hear it.
But it's giving me 11.62-.68 on the +12 Rail, before I overclocked so high I'd usually get around 12. something, but as soon as I added more fans this shit started to crumble. But it works so what the hey!
Go with a Sparkle if you got the money, or Enermax.

I just bought a Antec TrueControl 550W and it absolutely rocks! It allows you to adjust the 3 main output voltages seperatly on-the-fly, and has an adjustment for the minimum fan speed of the dual fans. It also has an external molex connection on the back for external devices. Do a search on them and there isn't a review out there that doesn't give it top ratings.
My TruePower 330W that I've been running for the last 2+ years went into my wifes system (her generic 350W died), so it finally gave me a reason to buy this TC550 that I've had my eye since they came out but up until now, could never justify the purchase. Thank goodness for generic short lived power supplies.
Now I've got my TC550 and couldn't be happier.
Again...it rocks!

I would go with Thermaltake Silent Purepower if I were you. I have always loved their products and I have never had any problems with anything they make. I have never heard anything bad about their powersupplies either.
I have an Antec 400 right now and that sucker can't handle what I am running in my box (2cdrom's, 7 case fan's, fan speed controller, 4PC devices, radeon 9800XT). AOpen Powersupplies suck too, don't get those haha.
