I've been overyclocking my Athlon XP 1600+ but the highest I can get it is 1417.5 from 1396.5, after that my system will restart a few minutes after logging into Windows. The multiplier is set at 10.5 and the default FSB is 133, so the highest I got it is 135. Any suggestions?
TIA |

Have the + version of the same board and it runs a 1600+ @ 1600 (10 x 160) no problem with stock Vcore. You do have the voltage jumpers and DDR voltage jumper set correctly don't you. I ran the DDR voltage at +.2 (stock is +.1) and left the Vcore stock. My 1800+ doesn't do so well as it needs 1.97 volts to run at 1743 (10.5 x 166). I am running the latest BIOS Epox has on their page, and it works ok.

lol don't think its the xp1600. got mine running a 185 fsb just fine. 8x multi though. for sure a power problem....
edit - man just looked at your system specs. you should unlock that baby and let mr. epox and mr. sammy do their job... with a new power supply and an unlocked xp you could see a 200fsb

that volcano 6 won't be handling OC temps very well. I'd go ahead and buy an AX-7 and fan if I were you. More RAM will not help in your OCing. Only get that if you need it for your games or apps, not OCing. also suggest considering Sparkle 400W PSU. I got one a few months ago and am really, really pleased with it
![]() edit - in the meantime, why not d/l and install MBM 5 so we can monitor your volts/fans/temps/etc...? configuration is a bit tricky with MBM 5 but after the "read me" and about 5-10 minutes of fiddling, you'll get it set up. If not we can set up an MSN session and I'll try and help get it configured. A really, really nice program
