ghetto cooling
well since the temperature is -1Âșc outside i decided to use mother nature as my case cooling, I seeled one end of a flexible duct to my side case fan (intake) and put the other end out of my window
Tualatin Celery 1300 @ 1550

CPU 29c idle 33c Load

aside from wearing a 2 sweaters to play games, I love it
my goal is to crack 9000 2k1 marks on b4 settings i was at 8509 wish me luck

Mmmm...good luck but watch the humidity levels, if the cold air coming in contains any moisture you'll get condensation....not good!

don't know the answer for that.just wouldn't like to see a members rig end up that way.

You could try adding some bags of silica gel dessicant although whether it would work quickly enough I'm not sure...somehow I doubt it

It works well but when I decided to close my window my pc became extreemly unstable even at default clocks so i wouldnt recommend doing this till this little issue has been worked out It still works great with window open but when i go back to normal it doesnt like it

justin21 @ -1 degree ambient temps the air will generally be to cold to retain any appreciable moisture, for a dehumidifier to work it would have to be placed in series between the source (outside air) and your computer. as you surmised, finding out about dewpoint and humidity would definately be to your advantage, if your really concerned you might look into making a "wet sling psychrometer" which measures dewpoint, or better just buy one of those cheap little weather stations at radio shack. hope that helps

What if he sealed the case and just had the air come in from outside and back out, then moisture couldn't come in and the case would remain warmer then the incoming air. Electrical parts generate heat and so the dew point doesn't really matter if the parts are hotter then the air
