My new NF7-S northbridge cooler.

I took a PIII HS. (Notice how big it is compared to the stock Abit one)

While I was working on it my dremel died, so I needed to go out and get a new one. This new one is much quieter, runs cooler, and stronger.

I cut the fins in the corner off. (This is an image of the final HS wihout the fan on, I forgot to take one of it with just the fins off)

Finally I got it in and working.

Stock cooler with ceramique temp: 28C
New cooler with ceramique temp: 25C (And the ceramique still hasn't set yet, on my CPU I saw a 3C drop after the ceramique was on for a few hours and settled)

For anyone interested here's all the tools I used in this: Here

Man blow that thing out.... it beyond your basic air can now... now you need to use a vacuum first or take it out side and blow it out with a air house @ about 60 PSI keeping your distance and don’t let the fans blades start spinning!!! As I’ve killed many a fan this way … or maybe it because I use 100 PSI

It might just be my digi cam, I cant even see the dust, even with the lights on and a flashlight pointing at where the camera shows it. I can run my finger along a "dusty" area, and barly any dust will be on it.

Ew that dust is disgusting. Exactly why I use filters on my intakes and use a compressor to blow out the case once a month. EWWWW

Wow, coenciding exactly to my CPU my temps under full load are now 22C. (This is after running it all day and all lasy night with F@H, CPU burn and 3dmark 03 going) Kinda funny having my temps go down while its under a higher load than I had on it before. (Just CPUburn and F@H, I still wanted to use the computer and 3dmark makes that pretty much impossible)

Its time for me to Vmod.

I am surprised your computer even runs at all- Damn- you need to dust that thing out more often, like once a week, not once a year....

"Ok, then whats the deal with me? I got 8MHz lower overclocks with the 3.8s than the 3.7s. My monitor size was also fluxuating like crazy. BF1942 also keeps crashing and having curruoption with 3.8s.. "

I think you should clean that out before you try to trouble shoot random crashes.. I've seen random buggy little problems on my system with 100x less dust on the memory that cleared up after I cleaned it out.. I can't even imagine what the inside of your PSU looks like... I'm totally shocked, wow.

Have you ever spray painted anything neon green in the same room as your PC w/ the PC on?? I see some wierd green dust on some of the fans exactly where dust collects on my fans-- strange..

I blow the whole thing out once a month. I live in a very dusty area, I said that already.

Also, you can't even see the dust in real life, the camera is making it look more apparant.

The fans were part of a failed experiment. Just pretend their black, my idea was embarasingly bad so I won't reiterate it here.

Its aluminum. The generic stock Abit one. (with a few very slight modifications.) I took the grill off, I cut out 2 of the support beams for the fan that block airflow, and I halfway lapped it down.

The attachment pins that came with it broke, and now I have managed to lose the screws that hold the fan onto the HS.

Yeah, you should really get some filters for all your intake fans then, with all the fans I run, I should get some too- I just blow mine out with air really good every week or so- But if I had filters I wouldn't have to do it as much..

And I really want to hear about the failed green paint experiment, come on- you can tell us.. I need a good laugh.
