Overclocking my P4 2.0GHz?

I'm completely clueless about how or even IF I should do this... what do you think?

I recieved this computer in January, it is a Dell ... standard Intel mobo and Pentium4 CPU.

if you dont know what you are doing, dont do it.. there is alot involved in overclocking that most kids dont understand, then end up breaking something. if i were you i'd just run at stock speeds..

well, ya can't OC a dell, sorry to mention.......by the way, spark, OC isnt that hard to learn though, i learn it in two days time when i first joined the forum, I OCed everything, CPU, RAM, my nvidia and ATI.....it quite easy actually, it just that, you have to be very cautious at adjusting stuff, dont go too extreme if ya dont know...always do some research first..

If you wanna overclock, you want to do a stable overclock. Here are some factors you must consider:

(1) Adequate cooling (water cooling or good quality air HSF unit)
(2) Good RAM to support increased speed.
(3) Good case ventilation (case fans)
(4) Misc cooling. e.g. Northbridge or southbridge cooling.
(5) Good hardware. e.g. motherboard, memory, CPU, thermal compound

This is a brief summary and does not include all of the intricacies of overclocking. Just go to Google.com and type in overclocking. You'll find a wealth of information.
