If you read a little further down in that post the guy said he overclocked a P4 to 4.1 ghz and had the same 9800 Pro overclocked to around the same numbers and it was 24747, in which the 3dmark compare link says 24825 for the overclocked Athlon64 (~2.4ghz)!! If there was ever hard proof of the "megahertz myth" it's this!!

one thing that raises my eyebrow is the fact that he didn't let the entire 3dmark run....... other then that, the rest impresses me....

Not many people let it all run through. Those extra things don't affect the store. Most people counter and say that his system isn't stable enough to complete it all and blah blah blah.

no you cant really on this!!! this aint no standard overclock or setup
NOTE: the video card in that system is a r9800 Pro 128mb @ 520/390
also running 215 fsb ....
How many of us have such an over clock on the video card?
There we go ... how about a stock bench not an insane over clocking attempt using specialized cooling......

Dude, it's being compared to a overclock p4 with a top of the line video card. This a wicked overclock on both things. But seriously, this 3200 is a low end chip for the AMD FX line.... Don't worry, read the post... this is a wicked CPU.

you'll have alot to work for to get it to work with what you got in your siggy (windows 3.1)..... actuallly, i think it would be halarious to see windows 3.1 running on an AMD 64.... run some benches made for that thing...

Actually, i was overclocking it.... add a fan (had just a heatsink).... got it up to 150mhz... but.... i didn't want to push it.... Without the fan at 100mhz, it'd run 50-60ish (used a thermonitor and put it into the heatsink), added a fan and it came down to 30 or less.... started overclocking and the thing would post and run fine in windows at 150 (2.5x 60Mhz) i can't get it to run without currupting the hardrive at 66 mhz FBS.... later i'm gonna try 180 (as fast as the board will alow me at 3x60)

I would also be interested in seeing some Sandra tests. I am also waiting patiently for Intel to release their 64bit chip. Which should be killer at 10ghz. As I would hope the AMD64 would be able to beat a 32bit chip.

He was actually using the drivers that were "optimized". The 3.5's (the one's he's using) had the optimization for the Nature test on 3dmark2001
