??? OC'ing a P4, temp question.

I'm sure it is common sence that the intel shim slows heat disipation and increases temperatures, I'm just wondering if this is correct.
Would I get better temp results without it on?

yes it can lower your temps if you remove the IHS from a intel chip but it will also void your warranty

also if you take the heat spreader off you have to becareful becuase if you mount a heatsink on the cpu without the heatspreader on you can put too much pressure on the core an crack it=dead processor

Is the decrease in temp worth the voiding of the warranty?

Not if you crack the core as well...seriously though I would doubt it, if it made that much of a difference I'm sure more people would be doing it but I haven't actually heard of anyone doing it
