Hot or Not?

My CPU runs at around 45 IDLE and 50 load, i have a 2800+ BARTON @ 200*11.0 (2200ghz), i use MBM 5.0, i think my PC needs more exhaust but im not sure were to put the fans?, cause my room is the hotter of all the upstairs rooms and those numbers above are usauly when my room isnt exacly c00l.. But i am moving on the 15th im gonna try and setup the bytch so its right next to my Air vent ;-) .... i expected the volcan0 11+ with AS3 to do a better cooling job, but i was getting these numbers with my 2600+ with its stock CPU cooler, while OC'ed , can anyone give me some ideas?, may-b some places to put my extras fans, i already have 1 exhaust fan on the side windowed part of my machine... b/c it is hot in that beast but i just dont want my exhaust fans to interfer with my Volcan0 11 fan...

make sure u have the same amout of air going in as of going out and the powersupply fan(s) do count

lets say u have 3 fans and 1 in power supply and u have 1rear slot 1side slot 1fronts slot for to put fans ... u would have to put one fan as exhaust on rear and 2 fans intaking on the side and front

basicly u want the are going in a flow and u dont want to disturb it

fan physics .. u dont want all the fans blowing in the case .. why ? well lets say ur in a car and ur the passagner going about 50+mph open the window and stick ur head safely out the window try breathing.. Hard ent it ? well thats exactly what the computer would be like hard to breath

same thing goes with all fans exhausing no air = dead

so basicly u want equal amout of air going in and out

well i reversed the window fan to blow into the machine and i created a blow hole at the top of the case using another 80mm fan with a crome guard, so the air would circulate more, and it seems to have a better effect on the machine this way...

actaully i belive a few mofe cfm in than out is better ... some of the pressure is lost due a thing called ristance. as well as your case is NOT airtight so some is lost through the sides/slots/holes/etc. so puting a few more cfm than out compensates

i have 3 45cfm fans blowing in an 2 45cfm fans (one being in the powersupply) blowing out

cpu temp for slk800u 30C 2500+ barton @ 200X11

anthoer real big helper is a deuel fans psu unit ... you would not belive the heat that imanates from your powersupply .... many are warm to the tuch !!! I took those cheasy fans out an put in 80mm 45cfm ball bearing fans about $3ea also only @ 30db

the bigest help is lowering the thermastat a little in your house

There should be a case temperature sensor as well (well, actually on a part of the motherboard that doesn't produce much heat)

So then you can compare room to case, and case to CPU.

In general, rear fans should extract, others (apart from top blowholes) should intake.
The difference will be made up by passive vents - and by air and fluff through the floppy slot (one good reason to go for positive pressure, with more intake than exhaust).

Most cases are weak on intake, with a front fan box drawing through a concealed vent of limited area (usually an opening at the bottom of the plastic case front).

My preference - though it would make a real mes of my vented case sides, would be for a side fan blowing fresh air toward the heatsink, or for some form of ducting so the heatsink either draws fresh air in, or exhausts directly out.
