excellent thanks.. it's a bit older considering the dates and drivers they are using... i have to use the 181.22 nvidia driver set or older or else it simply won't work at all. I loaded up UT3 and downloaded a few of the PhysX specialty maps..... i hadn't even played on them really before simply because at the time, i had in no way the power to bother with it. Now, even the phenom II... the frame rate isn't all that great.. but it's pretty good considering... did the physX nvidia workaround for the ATI cards and POW.... suddenly i'm getting playable frame rates ... and those playable frame rates make the maps appear completely different.... like a whole new game. It's like being stuck with 320x240 software resolution mode for the orginal UT classic game.... and then suddenly being thrown a system capable of running 1920x1200 3D acceleration with FSAA.... completely changes it.

They are also hard to get, even on ebay. a 9400 or 9600GSO is every bit as cheap or cheaper then the Ageia card but the Ageia card obviously should be less problematic

Re: Nvida Phsyx+ATI Crossfire Project... (which nvidia)
Yeah thats the main problem now. There are so few out there that the price is sky high for the ones that are left. (not that they weren't when they were being produced before there was a real good use for them)

Re: Nvida Phsyx+ATI Crossfire Project... (which nvidia)
I have an Asus P5N7A-VM sitting here that runs on an 9300 chipset. I know it will run Hybrid-SLI, and supposedly I can use the onboard for PhysX if I throw something like the GTX260 into the PCI-E slot. Gotta wonder if it would work with an ATI card though.

not sure how good of physx the 9300 would do lol.. but it'd likely be a faster then the CPU's at the physX test.

Hmmmm, Yeah that on board would be tricky but I don't see any reason it shouldn't work with a little effort

Re: Nvida Phsyx+ATI Crossfire Project... (which nvidia)
I'm not sure, but I think the PhysX is faster on a 9800GTX+ for some reason. I remember scoring 30,000+ CPU Marks for 3DMark Vantage with that one.
Though it is nothing in comparison with my Sapphire ATI HD4850X2 for visual delight and happinessness. |

It would be so easy. I had a spare 9800 and gave it to my sishub. I guess I would of used it for PhysX if I had a second slot. Anyway-Custom cooling. |

Interesting stuff. A bit of a pain that Nvidia would rather you didn't, though it is understandable.

Re: Nvida Phsyx+ATI Crossfire Project... (which nvidia)
actually the initial concept of it being "understandable" is out that window the moment you consider the fact that people still NEED to buy their nvidia products to use it.
Seriously if you were presented with the option.... would some of you at the very least.. purchase a Nvidia 9400-9600GT for physX only if it worked without a single hitch with your ATI product? How could nvidia not considering this. I mean they could potentially make a killing as their card would be a consideration reguardless of the system your setting up EVEN if the user made the prefference for a ATI Video card. I mean if i had KNOWN that i wouldn't have a single problem at all, without any tricks or jerry rigging, i would have purchased a 9800 or even a GTX2xx series specifically for PhysX as the more games i play with it, the more i'm quite impressed with the effects and the extra emmersion it provides. Some of these games seem like a whole new game to play. Maybe this calls for a poll
