That's exactly what I did! Temperature was completely unstable on air cooling. jumping up 8 to 10 degrees just from web page scrolling!!

Wink Re: Core2Duo E7300 Overclock

I've been running standard clocks for the past week, but am hoping to go up to 4GHz again when my bro-in-law and sis come round to show off some benchmarks in F.E.A.R. Check out my thread in benching for an update soon. I will post it there.

Re: Core2Duo E7300 Overclock

No it's really running at 3.6GHz because the system info above doesn't account for the use of a lowered multiplier. My chip needs much more voltage to run just a little higher so I decided that 3.6 was the sweetspot.

Nice numbers. 3.6 sounds good.

Re: Core2Duo E7300 Overclock

Here's a more recent overclock ranging from 3.4GHz to 3.60GHz.

These are at standard clocks:

3.4GHz:

Finally 3.60GHz:

I want to run 3DMark06 at 4.0GHz, but am hesitant because of only having air cooling. Probably will do it though! When I do I'll post the results here!!

Here is my lovely 3.75GHz clocks:

I will edit this post to enter my 3.8GHz clock when it becomes successful.

Re: Core2Duo E7300 Overclock

No. I have a Xigmatek S1283 with a Thermaltake 12cm 2500RPM fan connected to it. Also 3 other 12cm fans inside the case. I have been at 4.0GHz all day without any problems.

Re: Core2Duo E7300 Overclock

What are you temps like under full load at 1.5VCore?

Intels 45nm process should be kept at 1.45Volts or less ideally for long-term use, although to be honest the chips so cheap loosing a few years to degradation wont really matter that much.

Everything is stable and the temps run at about 60 even under full load.
