Phenom OCd to 4ghz!!!!!
I'll post my pics soon. But With a handy hybrid Liquid/fan cooling system on my cpu, plus everything else clocked down, I managed to get stable system performance with a 9850 Black Edition Phenom Oc'd to 4GHZ. On an M3A Motherboard. Though the temp does range high...scary at times, It has been stable for 6hr now! Unfortunately I'm forced to have low ram clock . But still, I'll consider this a personal benchmark.

I'm not sure....maybe with that specific model. I wanna say there was another person that got close at least when the Phenom first hit shelves on subambient water but im not sure what his speed was. In any case CONGRATULATIONS

I might be able do that too - but to me, it's not a decent overclock without your RAM, HT and NB all up at least to stock levels - otherwise, you can't really use it...
I've been at 3.51GHz before without much voltage increase at all: CPU-Z Validator 2.1
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=391344
I settled in at 3.485GHz @ 1.32V and have been here for a week now, passed every stress test I've thrown at it.
And that's my 24/7 speed. Idle at 41*C, full-load at 54*C now that the AS5 has cured. Passed 24 hours of dual instances of Orthos StressPrime Blend at priority 10 several days ago...so needless to say, it's stable.
@ True-PC: What's the exact stepping of your Phenom?? I'd like to know so I can check it out in the databases...

First of all congrats Psy. Second of all I must agree that it can't really be a true OC of the rest of your system is reduced to slug speed to get a high CPU clock

OC records really only pertain to a single piece of hardware. If it were the case that everything had to be pushed to limits, then the guys that hit 5-6ghz on Intel platform with 1-2GB of RAM should be using 8GB and so on and so forth.
The only time OCing takes into account total system performance is in synthetic benchmarks, but as for a single hardware record anything is acceptable.

Dang...I'd sure like to see a screenshot or CPUz of this 4GHz OC! Even at least an entry on even 1 of the Phenom World Overclock Databases that are around...
hmmm....

Do you reckon he's ever coming back? Or did he make it up for some perverse reason? I'd still like to see the screenshots if it was real.
