**Help with OC**

Hello,
I am shiv

I am new to Overclocking and would require some help
My config :
AMD 64 X2 5200+ - dual core @200Mhz
Gigabyte MA690VM-S2 board
2G * 2 Jetram (transcend @ 667) currently at (5-5-5-15)
NVIDIA 8600GTS

I do not have any option in bios to increase the Dram voltage (now at 1.8v)

can any one recomend me the OC settings for both Ram and Cpu.

Thanx
Shiv

this is your motherboard's BIOS main menu, it does not seem to have support for overclocking for your memory and the system processor

i'm not sure, but i think the main menu of Gigabyte's motherboard that do support overclocking will have a BIOS menu called MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.), like this below example...

the EasyTurn5 software most likely will not support the overclocking function (when using with your motherboard).

however, i suggest you check in your motherboard's BIOS setup program and user manual again.

Hello Shiv and welcome to the forum.

I've never owned an AMD and they overclock differently to an Intel. So rather than giving advice that may be wrong I will give you a link (of which there are many) to the first AMD overclocking guide that came on my google search.

Overclocking Guide

I'm sure someone else will be along shortly with experience of an AMD overclock.

Edit: And there you go. Panging posted while I was typing lol

Panging - On my last Gigabyte mobo (875 chipset) there wasn't an MIT option on my main list but I still got overclocking options coming up when used Ctrl+F1. I just can't remember where they were situated.

in some BIOS version on some certain Gigabyte boards, yes, you are required to use Ctrl+F1 keys to get some additional BIOS setup manus and some certain BIOS options.

Hi i did get some options with cnt+f1...

But my MB does not support increasing CPU/DRAM voltage...(no MBI and easy tune features)
However i was able to Overclock frm 2.7Ghz to 2.98Ghz using Cpu multi ratio and FSB as shown below
I also used SuperPI for stability test, it works fine!!!

THANX A TON!!!!
