kaisellgren is on a distinguished road

After 25% OC unable to get to Windows but boots?

Good evening!

My first time OCing my CPU and I have a Intel Q6600 2.4GHz 1066MHz fsb (rated) and I set it to 1333 MHz so I got my 2.4 GHz CPU to 3.0 GHz (multiplyer is 9).

I set everything to auto (I mean those voltages, disabled most technologies temporarily). Then I booted and it did POST and I got into BIOS etc, but it does not load into Windows, it just keeps showing me a blank black screen and no Windows loading screen.

What could be the reason? When I go to BIOS it says I have 3.0 GHz etc and it booted but something is not correct...

EDIT: I have Transcend PC2-6400 aXeRam 2GB Kit (Micron D9GMH) memory and ASUS P5N-E SLI mobo. Q6600 is G0.

mkk will become famous soon enough

You will probably have to raise the CPU voltage a little bit.

There might be some basic guide to overclocking on this forum.

Sorry I did not see this earlier....

But in almost all cases in overclocking the motherboard will POST stable long before it is stable enough to load OS and start stressing (usually can POST at much higher frequencies, with lower volts)

Most cases you have to increase various voltages in order to get it into your operating system.

If you would like some more help on the issue, post your pertinent system specs (CPU/Mobo/RAM) as well as any BIOS options you have used thus far.
