Ok so i have an entertainment center that is way warm with all the componinets in their. It is all wood with a fiber board back. It has 1 hole for the wires but no other ventalation. So i decided to add 2 fans to the back and drill through the fiber board mount 2 90mm quiet fans. Now my question is that i do not have a jig saw or a dremil tool.... but i have a drill bit for cutting door knobs that is roughly 54 mm diameter.... any ideas?

Time consuming but draw a outline the size you want then use a smaller drill bit to cut out the circle by making lots and lots of little holes. Then sand smooth. Sounds like a lot of work but it's how I got a perfect 120mm hole in the perspex on my case.

Failing that buy a dremel or a much lesser priced black and decker equivalent. You'll get your moneys worth over the years, I use mine for loads of things.

I used a drill for the 80mm holes in my case. My case is quite thick metal, and I dulled about 3 of them, but they made perfect holes, so you shouldn't have any problems with fibreboard.

Yah was just wondering if 56 mm was large enough for the air flow or if i really should do it right and do the many little holes idea.... leaning toward the little holes. Got to put 2 in

1 for in and one for out... just to make sure i am doing it right i should put the in on the bottom and out on the top correct?

Easiest way is with a hand saw or drywall knife (for the back) or some junk.

56MM should be a good enough start anyway, then you could use the hand saw to widen it out, then just hand sand it round and smooth
