9500/9700 volt mods.

Ok here is the thing I had a radeon 9700 that had a little mod done to it that would allow it to run in 4x agp mode only on older motherboards that will not boot with it in 8x agp. This mod only placed a couple pieces of tape on the connectors at the bottom edge of the card.

The problem is that I sold my 9700 and now I need to be able to do this and I can't find this little mod anyplace. If anybody knows what I'm talking about could you please post a link or tell me which two connectors to put the tape on. If anybody needs pics to understand what I'm talking about let me know and I'll take some pics.

Thanks.

this is not for newer motherboards. It is for older motherboards taht only do 4x. Some of them wont post with the 8x agp radeons unless you basicly force it into 4x agp mode. I really wish I would have taken pics of that card before I sold it. I really hate this. It works very nicely and is easy to do. I just can't remember exactly which two leads to put the tape on. By leads I'm refering to these:

Um that is actaully a pic of the back side of a radeon 8500 but it's the same. Gold leads on the bottom of the card that fit into the agp slot. You simply cut a pice of tape to only cover just a single lead. There are two pieces of tape you can place on two seperate leads that will force it to run in 4x agp mode.
