Nice...
I just ordered one of these for a friend and am looking forward to setting it up and running it through the mill before I consider buying one for myself. I do have a question though. Does that board allow you to set up a RAID array using IDE drives? I can't seem to find any relevant info on that and seem to get conflicting reports as to whether that board has RAID or not. One site will say it has RAID, one site says it doesn't, another one says it has RAID but is VERY flaky and usually doesn't function correctly. I cannot do without my RAID array and won't even consider a board that doesn't have it as an option. I do like the fact that the onboard audio on this would allow me to ditch the audigy, but I have to have RAID.

Shuki... I know you know your shit... but I wouldn't suggest going with the RAID 0 on the SATA headers. You can read up on the thread at Abit's forum called "SATA not working reliably" http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread...&threadid=3957 . It's not looking good yet. Abit hasn't fixed the SATA problems. Some people get data corruption, some don't. It is very random.

please tell me WHY you would post that statement? do you think I'm maxed out here? do you think I've stopped? do you think my RAM is topped out? or were you just suggesting I spend more money for the fun of it?
edit - and yes, stock speed on the 9700 pro (for now). Click the smiley in first post to view timings.

not to highjack my own thread or anything but I'd like to see your OC progress screened out like this. Its really fun to do You've got same mobo, same cpu and pc3200 ddr and now a brand new thermalright hsf. You seem to have a lot of advice on OCing and hardware and I just wondered how you actually do in OCing.... Start another thread and give us a run m8!

I'd OC more if my RAM ran stable. Something is freaked with the MOBO... Being RMAed. Waiting for the cross-shipped board. Waiting for my credit card payments to clear so I can get some PC3500 (OCZ, 76$ a stick). It'll be two weeks before I can get my mobo back.
edit: by the way............ goodnight. bed time.

excuse me, but need to vent.
Drive, first it was your CPU so you ordered new xp2100b.
then you said it was your mobo so you bought nf7 v1.2
then you said it was your cooling with volcano 9 so you ordred SLK
now you say its back to mobo and even your RAM.
It would appear to me that the problemsyou are experiencing is not so much hardware related as they are user related... Really, I don't wanna sound like an ass but you post all over the place like you know what you're doing (ie "xp2100 can hit 2600mhz on air easy" or "now you just need some pc3500 mem" those are just in my threads let alone all the "advice" you give out in other threads) but in reality your OCing skils are obviously lacking. Hardware and money can only take you so far in this game and then its up to talent, skill and luck. You appear to be very, very unlucky or maybe its something else..... anyhow, I hope you don't take offense but please stop posting about stuff that you really have only "read" about... put up or shut up

NO, my ram has not run stable in this board (1.2) ever since I got it. I don't report my problems to everyone once I get them. I just avoid the hassle and RMA. My ram does run stable in the 1.2 ... why? Beats me but other people on Abit Forum have the problem too. So I said fuck I, RMA time. Patience Shuki.

Nice work Shuki!!
I am still highly considering this board, just have to get the RAID issue worked out. I may have to use an add in RAID card if the board performs reliably and stably. Glad to see you got yours running great. Now, can I have it? heh heh.
I see you chose Kingston HyperX. Do you have to slow the timings down considerably to hit 200 like you do with alot of the Corsair that is not "LL" designated? I may pawn this XMS 3200 off on a friend as it seems to only run stable above 180 with 3-3-2 2T timings and has been pretty disappointing so far performance wise. It is very stable at those timings, but so would decent PC2700. Setting it to 1T causes instant lock ups. I can't get to 200 stably, but 190 is rock solid.
This will be my first experience with an Nforce board, so I may drop you a line if I run in to a question I can't find an answer to. That is, if you don't mind.
Nice work dude!

Don't mind at all. And if you go with this nf7 at least I am familiar with the BIOS on it. My mem timngs right now at 200x12 dual channel hyperX is 2 2-5-2. I'm getting ready to do a vdd mod as the board has reached its chipset limit here at 200. 205 and I can not run dual channel and complete 3dmark2k1 only single stick. 210 fsb and I can't even get 2k1 to start So gonna mod this baby this afternoon and hopefully post up some more progress...

well I not only did the vdd mod but also cut both a new hsf "duct" and a 120mm hole in side of case. So I now have a 120mm fan blowing across my nb, r9700 pro (soon to be zalman cooled right in front of 120 fan ) and sb. I also have a stock amd xp hsf sitting here that I will probably fit to the nb.
but to answer your question, before my 1.6vcore in BIOS was 1.604 it now reads 1.740 those are measured from spot 1. spot 2 gave me 1.686 stock and up to 1.831 now And PLEASE, people who have not achieved 200+ overclocking speeds stable for an extended period of time, don't post up your advice on what I need to do....
can't wait to share some pics.... dang I wish I just had some bandwidth tried that iupload site and each time I try and post img tags here I get some flashing Bible banner about stealing... Oh well, pics will follow
