1.85 V doesn't give 1.85 V

Ok, so what's the deal with this: I set the VCore to 1.85 V, but I'm receiving 1.95 V. Why is that? I was thinking of unlocking more voltage options, but seeing it's at 1.95 V I'm very cautious about it.

For quick reference:

ASUS P4B-266C
P4 1.7 GHz @ 2.04 GHz.
Stock cooling

CPU Temp (Semi-Idle) - 38.5 C
MB Temp - 27 C

Whoa, try flashing to the newest bios. If that doesn't fix it your voltage regulator is probably shot.

Newest "Official" BIOS

The newest "official" BIOS is already in. There are BETAs but I don't know how to flash them since they're not .awd format. And the voltages have always been like this since I got it, I just never gave it much thought.

System Specs

usage

some boards add ekstra if the cpu needs it, eg. my epox 8k3a+ is at 1.95, but my bios setting is at 1.9, but try looking in www.amdforums.com and the asus forum if other similar "problem"

my board always uses less voltage...for my oc it's set to 1.65v but it usually stays at about 1.6-1.61, and no higher. i would try one of those beta bioses myself...or look on a forum about them...viaarena.com should have something on them...
