Windows and overclocking
when i overclock my cpu beyond 2.6+ sometimes it wont get past start up and i have to turn off the computer for 20sec to reset the bios. and when i get into windows98 it says that there is errors in drivers and tries to back up the registry. my motherboard supports the barton 3000+. i havnt altered any of the cpu voltage yet is that the prob cos i'm a bit worried about altering the voltage in fear of burning out.
it says i can increase by +5%, +7.5% and +10%.
please can anyone help. this has been annoying me for a while.
thanks
Sy

When u oc too high, windows starts giving errors, or won't start p, etc. If upping the voltage won't keep the system stable, than ur prolly OC'ing too high.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! 65C is bad! Over 70C CPU DIES... over 50C and you risk looseing you on chip cache (then it will run like a turtle) (I have seen it a few times it does happen)..... shoot for aroud 30C-40C (under no load) you need eather more airlow, a bigger cpu fan or a new cpu cooler? what hind of rig you got going here thow in some details cpu cooler... fans... etc?
need some really good cooling for this kinda stuff!!!!!!!
