A while back, we
reported on the Electronic Frontier Foundation's (EFF) effort to take down some of the bogus patents that have been popping up in recent years—patents granted on previously existing or very obvious technology. Yesterday they decided to
throw down the gauntlet on one of them: the recording patent
purchased by Clear Channel in 2004, which that company
claims grants them exclusive rights over any system used to make recordings during concerts with the goal of offering them for sale in digital format immediately afterward.
