Samsung retakes LCD crown from LG.Philips LCD in 3Q, says DisplaySearch

In the third quarter of this year, global large-size TFT LCD shipments increased 20% sequentially and 79% on year to 61.1 million panels on the strength of LCD TV modules, with larger-than-20-inch TV panels capturing 65% of TV panel shipments and 84% of revenues, according to DisplaySearch.

Samsung Electronics overtook LG.Philips LCD to capture the top position in large-size TFT LCD unit shipments with 4.09 million units shipped per month. LG.Philips LCD was second with 4.06 million units per month. Samsung led in shipments of panels for notebook and LCD monitor applications, while LG.Philips LCD led in LCD TV panels shipments and Sharp led for others.

AUO remained in the third position with 13.9% share of unit shipments.

Several here at DH have contributed to this surge by Samsung - PCWorld notes the Dell 2405FPW is a Samsung panel...

I just bought a Samsung CRT!

it didn't work- sent it back

Got a new one!

It is messed up- sending it back..

Maybe by 2006 I will get one that works...

It is an awesome monitor though, just a problem in quality control I cannot overlook, so it is going back.

what game is that? dono if u got all the other settings scaled down kuz of the resolution but that game dosent look good at all....i run counter-strike source at 1880x1440

2048x1536 is crazy tho!

Yeah it looks really good on the monitor... I suppose unless you have your screen set to 2048 x1536... it will look too big and aliased.

It is RBR.

Anyway at 20 x 15 on a 19 inch screen... no need for antialiasing really.. it kind of looks more like this.
