Oslo firm's software (Opera) suits hand-held field

OSLO - Opera, the Norwegian software company, was never really a contender in the Internet browser wars for the desktop computer, despite an Apple-like devotion from many of its customers.

But the company and outside analysts say Opera may be on the verge of a more successful rollout. As cellphones become more advanced, many say Opera is at the forefront of browsers that let customers surf the Internet from their mobile phones and other hand-held devices.
