Samsung announced the 72 plasma HDTV series, three new high-end models that will be offered through the retail channel. The new product family is designed in a gloss-black casing typical for step-up models and side audio/video input jacks. Additionally, the devices are equipped with 10 speakers.
According to the company, the casing is less than 4 inches deep and integrates a display that is capable of displaying 549 million colors and achieving a contrast ratio of 10,000:1. Horizontal and vertical viewing angles are 175 degrees. Pricing begins at $4200 for the 42-inch version. The 50-inch model retails for $5700, the 63-inch TV carries a suggested retails price of $13,000. (THG)
