Danny Solomon in 3dchipset just sent me this email:

We received a newly packaged driver in the form of v73.00 for Windows XP & Windows 2000 users. Rumor has it that these might/will fix the SLI Widescreen problems users have been having with SLI and widescreen displays. The files are dated April 15th, 2005. They now are confirming that it fixes the widescreen

before you put to much work into them might want to wait for some feedback. though the sli fix alone probably makes it worthwhile.
