Press Release: Sapphire set to launch X800 series cards on AGP
Recognising the importance of the continuing market and enthusiast use of AGP based systems, Sapphire Technology Limited, the leading supplier of ATI-powered graphics accelerators, has just announced that it will soon add several new AGP models to its world acclaimed range of high end and mid range graphics products.
New models offering the highest performance to date on the AGP bus will be based on ATI’s newly introduced native AGP version of its acclaimed X850 visual processing unit (VPU). With its 16 parallel pixel pipelines and six vertex pipes this new VPU allows Sapphire to introduce a choice of models with high speed memory and fast core clock speeds setting new world-beating standards in performance for high end, high definition gaming. At the same time, Sapphire has announced that it will introduce new products in its successful Radeon X800 and X800XL families extending this technology to AGP users with the incorporation of ATI’s newly announced AGP bridge chip. These new cards offer a choice of value and performance for users wishing to significantly upgrade gaming and video systems using the AGP bus. Adrian Thompson, Global Marketing Director for Sapphire, welcomes the new additions to the range. “We are aware that there are a significant number of users and integrators who want to increase graphics performance but continue to use existing AGP architectures” he says. “We will be making further announcements about these new models and their specifications as they become available, including some exciting news for the enthusiast, building on Sapphire’s established reputation for silent cooling solutions and safe overclocking.” |
