Porn Site Sues Google for "Free Peeks"

Perfect 10 Inc., a porn company based in Beverly Hills, California, is suing Google because it says the search engine allows people to see its nude photos without having to pay the monthly $25.50 fee. Google says it has yet to see the lawsuit.

Perfect 10 says web surfers can see the images on Google's search engine from foreign web sites. The company is also unhappy that Google has links to password hacking sites that offer passwords for Perfect 10's site.

Perfect 10 says thousands of its images are being displayed for free. the company fears it will lose the 100,000 people that pay to visit each month, and will be forced to go out of business.

Now thats a good one. Just a little over the top on the exaggeratedness of the outcome from this alleged problem with google. Just a tad. And the idea that google draws people to their site with porn is awfully funny.

They removed the links, and posted a link to the ruling and copy of the complaint which included the links - Good for them!

Google is a search engine, not a maintained catalog, it acts automatically and takes the Internet as it finds it.

Sounds like a problem with the way they designed their site to me. I find it amusing that this is the only site crying foul. After all, the google search engine has been running for years.. We would have seen something from other companies by now.

This company needs to hire someone reliable to secure their site so that google is not able to spider all their links.... I hope they go broke too. It's their own fault.

It IS more akin to the Kazaa situation, as it's sites where other people have posted passwords.

So what's the big issue - if those passwords are known to be "out there", only the completely incompetent would not void them immediately - end of problem.

Why don't THEY use Google themselves to find the leaked passwords, or are they too stupid?

And if there are direct links to their images, putting a valid "robots.txt" file of appropriate settings in the directory should keep the google spiders out.

I suppose they may be daft enough to put their email address in clear text, and then complaing when spammers scoop it from the serch engines?
