And if you take care of them they could very well last a lifetime. I bought a pair of HD 414's back in 1973 - still my primary phones after two hand carved foam earpiece replacements. They still sound great...
Yes, they really are 31 years old...I was 15.

That was a pretty bad review. I was reading it under the impression I would get a sense of how it sounds with games. Instead, I find a list of (might I add, poor) selections of music.
I have the 280 pro's, and they are good for gaming, for both its isolation capability as well as its positional audio (the small soundstage helps). However, it does have a design flaw. The headband, made of plastic, has a tendency to crack apart after some use, requiring replacement. I've had mine for a few years and have only just now begun to notice a crack here and there. |
