Those without broadband services in their area now have some hope. If you live within a mile of a Starbucks --and, really, who doesn't?-- you can now get a 1.5Mbps WiFi (802.11b) connection for a meager $30 a month. The catch? Starbucks only allows you 500MB of data transfer per month (16.67MB a day).

Considering I've transferred terrabytes of data on my broadband connection - don't plan on seeing me at Starbucks with my laptop any time soon.
