The Chronicles of Riddick headed to PC

Vivendi Universal Games announces that Riddick's coming to the PC, in all his hi-res glory.

One of the surprise videogame hits of 2004 so far has been The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, the Xbox game starring Vin Diesel released in early June. It now appears Riddick will be making his way to the PC, according to a brief announcement today from Vivendi Universal Games: "We can confirm that there will be a PC version of Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. At this time we are not revealing any further details, including its release date. We'll have more information soon."

While unable to release any specific sales figures, a Vivendi spokesperson said that sales for The Chronicles of Riddick for the Xbox were "exceeding expectations," which likely aided in the decision to bring the game to the PC.

Since its release, The Chronicles of Riddick has received much critical acclaim for its cinematic story and astounding visuals, including an Editors' Choice award from GameSpy. It's been hailed as one of the best movie-licensed games to date, and we're looking forward to seeing it in all its hi-res glory on the PC. We'll have more on the PC version of Riddick as information becomes available.
