The FileZilla client offers similar features and capability to its commercial alternatives. This is a minor update to the 2.2.7 release where new features such as MODE Z file transfer compression was introduced.

Changelog:

SSL libs could not be loaded if msvcr71.dll was missing. Removed that dependancy.
File exists actions on transfer page in settings did not work properly.
Fixed regression introduced in 2.2.7 which caused most file operations to use file creation time instead of last modification time FileZilla did follow symbolic links if deleting remote files/folders.

Download FileZilla 2.2.7a

Note: The program is 'freeware'.

It's a File Transfer program... sorta like CuteFTP or various others.... But after being recommended it by zardon... (and trying to get those bloody others ftp programs to remotely work... let alone figure out what crap they would install)... i find the program very excellent...

FTP Programs - a huge pile of free ones.

Actually, Mr. Average probabaly FTP DOWNLOADS using a web browser or download manager, but if you need to upload a website by FTP, then you need a proper FTP program - unless the editor program includes FTP upload.

actually filezilla is the best FREE open source FTP application ever, its rare to find one that can compeat. which i would like to introduce to you... www.flashFXP.com its free for 30 days, and then u have to pay for it. its just as good as filezilla, i like it and use it on a daily basis (sometimes filezilla too :P)

i've used IE itself to upload and whatnot with FTP and HTTP transfers.. it has no problem....

I use WS_FTPpro works great, but it isn't free. Does Filezilla work in the Windows shell? For instance I can right-click on a file, then upload it to my web server without opening the program and without typing any passwords/etc... Can Filezilla do that?
