I am guessing these folks purchased AIDA32 or copied it almost to last detail while adding a few more items like HD temps

Lavalys Appoints Tamás Miklós as CTO and Executive Vice President of Software Engineering Research & Development

The very same guy who developed Aida32 - and dodged and evaded such questions as "are you selling out"
The answer, it seems, was YES, and good luck to the guy, especially if he pressured for a free version to remain.

The fact is, that some featuires of Aida32, are now "PRO" (PAY) in Everest, some seem to have sunk without trace, but at least it gets updated.

While Aida32 will not be out of date as fast as an antivirus, a system information tool does need to be kept up to date with the hardware it needs to identify, though an open, pooled identity database would also work.
