Creative Zen Portable Media Center Makes European Debut at CeBit

Creative's exciting new multi-format personal entertainment platform will be showcased in Europe for the first time to attendees of CeBIT, Hannover 18-24 March, Hall 23, Stand C16

Creative (Nasdaq: CREAF) the worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for the personal computer and the Internet has chosen this year's CeBIT, held in Hannover between March 18 and 24, as the European debut event for the Creative Zen Portable Media Center. This award-winning breakthrough in digital entertainment, unveiled by Microsoft Corp. Chairman and Chief Software Architect Bill Gates at CES in January, builds on the foundations laid by Creative's digital audio players and is scheduled to be on the shelves in the Christmas quarter.

The Creative Zen Portable Media Center won this year's 'Best of CES' in the Home Audio category. The prototypes on show at CeBIT can store up to 80 hours of video, 5,000 songs and 50,000 digital photos, displaying still or moving images on their large LCD screens. Production models would have the potential to offer up to double these capacities.

"The Creative Zen Portable Media Center ushers in a new era in personal digital entertainment," comments Jean-Marc Dupuis, European vice president for sales and marketing with Creative. "It's incredibly compact - smaller than a post card - and is powered by Windows Mobile Software for Portable Media Centers. It can store hundreds of hours of video and thousands of songs and images. The large LCD screen, easy-to-navigate controls, USB 2.0 connectivity and Smart Sync technology make content management and enjoyment fast and easy."

"With this device, Creative is helping Microsoft transform personal digital entertainment with a seamless PC-to-device experience that's fun and easy to use," said Todd Warren, corporate vice president of the embedded devices group at Microsoft. "The Creative Zen Portable Media Center supports easy portability of all Windows XP digital videos, home movies, recorded TV shows, photos, music and even album art."
