Artic Silver 5
Artic Silver today announced Artic Silver 5, their newest thermal compound made with micronized silver. According to Artic this new silver compound is 'The New Reference'. It was formulated to conduct heat and not electricity, but because it is a silver compound it is very smart to keep it away from any electrical traces, pins, leads, unless you want to ruin your hardware.

I am curious if there is going to be ANY difference between this and ceramique. I think I would go with the ceramique just for the easy cleanup and lack of electrical conductivity. Hey craig, if you need someone to offload all of that TIM, I will be willing to take it off your hands for no charge out of the goodness of my heart.

well AS3 is still good, if you happen to have AS5 or is planning to clean your rig then changing them would be a good idea, dont have to change everytime something new comes out

Well, I do. I like being on the cutting edge. Especially if the price is great.
But I also don;t like to waste stuff so I will use this stuff for a while. |

hehe thats why i let my bro buy the AS so i can get his extras without me having to worry
and i only reapply when im bored or my temps start going up (usually dust buildup by slk) also one good thing is there is a store near where i live that sells nothing but fans/sinks/thermal paste, wonder when he'll get the new batches

Shoulda read my post I guess... LOL I posted this Oct. 9 I'll still keep using Ceramique because it works great and won't short anything out-- It's the best of both worlds.

Just ordered some from BestByte, total came to $5.99 shipped for the regular size AS5. Can't beat that, everywhere else is $7.99 + shipping.

Wait for the reviews. Some beta testers dropped a 1-2C in load temps over Ceramique. Of course, given a reasonable margin of error, could perform the same.
