FIC A98P Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB Review
Oh how interesting the graphics card industry has been the last few weeks. From Futuremark cheating fiascos to the introduction of NVIDIA's new flagship video card, we've had a lot of action and things taking place all around, some good and others bad. It seems that product cycles are only getting shorter, and the recently ignited ATI and NVIDIA flagship card rivalry is only to get hotter as the months pass.
With the enthusiast market's cut throat nature so often referred as an only ATI vs NVIDIA war, often times individual board partners, the manufacturers that we see in store and online shelves are not mentioned. FIC, being one of ATI's largest partners, both in the OEM and more recently a powerhouse in the enthusiast front is of course at it again with their rendition of the Radeon 9800 Pro. Over the last year we've seen FIC transition itself directly into the enthusiast markets first with their feature rich Via KT400 and Intel 845 chipset motherboards, and then almost out of nowhere one of the best Radeon 9700 Pro graphics cards we've tested.
This time around FIC decided to revise their look and created a hip box design with a rendered bull on the cover, with many similarities to the ATI box design (silver figure, red and black colors), but overall looking more fierce. So how will the FIC's rendition of the 9800 Pro stand up? Let's take a look.
