Switcher's lament: The case against Mac

Think moving from a Windows PC to a Mac is easy? My experience, and my wife's, may encourage you to think differently. Here's the story:

Re: Switcher's lament: The case against Mac

After a year with his laptop he chooses to buy a new laptop because windows became slow due to the installed crapware? Should I stop reading it now?

Well, the program frustrations are a bit too much IMO. Why is it Macs' fault that the products there are not the exact same as the Windows programs, it's just...silly.

I don't know if things are done differently, but why complain about not 100% working drivers for third party hardware is Mac's fault?

If both him and his wife were set with Windows' programs and the OS itself, why change to a totaly different system and complain that things are done differently there?

And I still can't get over the fact that the main if not only reason he moved to a Mac was that after a year of using his Windows laptop it became slow.

Im amazed how low in the intelligence quota of the average person is, even writers.

Either that or im a freaking genius (ive everything from cs4, office, rendering, email (yes even exchange!) all working on my macs in various rooms).

I like the latter option better, makes me feel special !

Don't forget that to experienced tech heads like ourselves a total HDD format can be a daily thing and is for some of us, but for the average user especially a business user the thought of losing everything absolutely petrifies them and they insist on getting a new machine and moving stuff across which actually takes longer than backing up what you need and formatting.

stupid i know but you have to appreciate people have different perceptions on piss easy topics than we do
and Lol Z you spesh person

Re: Switcher's lament: The case against Mac

i like how he did zero research and went out to buy a machine using a completely different OS, and then expected everything to work the same... yep, that's smart

before I got a mac at home, I had been using them at school for about 2 years, so I knew what I was in for, and did a bit of research to make sure my applications/peripherals would work, but naturally, I had to make a few changes to my workflow - I don't understand why people don't realise this?

and a lot of his points were pure crap, especially the itunes one - to import your music, open itunes, drag the itunes music folder from the other machine into itunes - simple...
