looks pretty cool, netbook with a high res screen, gps and 3G modem, might just be waht my gf is looking for

I hope she's got zoom lenses on her glasses, 1600*768 on 8" screen is going to be tiny!

Also, the screen's "ultra wide" aspect ratio is, of all things, least suited for web browsing (though vertical resolution of 768px is generous for today's netbooks).
All considered, this laptop is not going to outperform the competition (the CPU is even clocked about 20% lower than what we're used to), the kimono picture doesn't make it look like something that fits in ones pocket so it can't really be much more portable then the other, allready quite small and light devices from it's class and I doubt that it will beat them in terms of battery life, especially the basic model without an SSD. With the prices starting at €700, I think that one will have to fall for the screen or the design, or to really really love Sony to buy this , but I guess I'll better wait till it's out.
