With the TiVo Pause Menu that launched today, even if a user is fast-forwarding through the traditional ad breaks on a time-shifted program, he will still be subject to "premium" ads designed to appear in the truncated space.

Looks like BetaNews read the press release incorrectly. The ads only display on Pause (not that it's any better).

i know tivo needs to find new revenue streams, but there are going to mess with the thing enough were they will flat out lose customers.
