Cool IT Systems NV Reference SLI Cooler

Today we'll take a look at a cooling solution for NVIDIAs very popular, G80 series of cards - specifically the 8800GTX. While there are several after market air coolers out there for this card, they tend to use even more space than the original dual slot unit. The Cool IT Systems NV Reference Series SLI cooler is - while still using dual slot - a viable alternative and should give you a much better cooling performance. The company recently announced their offering for the new GTX 260 and 280 series of graphic cards. Considering that the review sample in our lab today is intended for the GeForce 8 part, we will not take a look at graphic performance, but will focus on how the cooling unit performs in regards to noise, heat and overclockability. The new version for the latest generation GPUs is very similar in construction to this unit, so it should give you a good idea what to expect.
