Designed to offer the last word in all-round HD entertainment, the VAIO AR60-Series is Sony’s flagship desktop replacement laptop. It’s also one of the few laptops to boast an integrated Blu-ray disc drive along with Intel’s Core 2 Duo T8300 processor at its heart. Now we know Intel has just released the Centrino 2 platform, but laptops based on this new energy-saving platform won’t be available until the end of next month. And then there’s no saying when Sony will roll out products - the Japanese giant is notoriously slow to jump on the bandwagon. For the next few months at least, the VGN-AR61ZU (£1739) is Sony’s best offering.
