Antec Twelve Hundred Gaming Case
Antec have surprised us in the past with their very stylish cases. Today, we’ll be reviewing something slightly different from the normal high class cases Antec have sent us. Today we’ll be reviewing is the Antec Twelve Hundred, otherwise known as the 1200 – the big brother of the highly successful Nine Hundred. This case – like its brother – is designed towards gamers with the masses of space it offers and its cooling potential. However, is it good enough to live up with its brother? Read on to find out…

I've been closely considering this case. The real turn offs for me are the blue LED's on the fans and like the article says the price tag for a steel case. What I really like is the amount of space, Antec's careful vibration dampening designs, and the cable management.
Does anyone have any case suggestions for me? I've got a radeon hd 3870 x2 to fit in (10.5" card) and I'm not willing to sacrifice case features for it so that rules out favorites like the P182.

I'd like one with a more sleek, simplistic outer design. For instance the 200mm fan hub sticking out on the top is quite redundant, as a flat surface with a regular 120mm fan would have done fine together with the two 120's in the back. For most even heated up gamer systems just the two fans in the back are quite enough. The plastic window side with unfiltered vents also don't impress me. Having both sides using the plain black matte metal that they complain about on the other side would have made the case look even meaner, dampened noise better and made it look cleaner. Then there's the enormous space of open gratings in the front that while serves its purpose to let in fresh air in just the right place of a case, should have had some form of dust filter incorporated. I like the black steel look a lot, so why screw it up like they do?
All the included fans would probably have to go too. Antec's 120mm haven't been perticularly quiet even at their lowest setting, but I'd expect at least the 200mm to be fine. |

I believe the front does have dust filters on the openings. I have cats and I wouldn't even consider a case without filters.

Hmm... My P180 is getting a bit too small so I'm considering to get one of these as replacement.
