EC task force recommends a 'plan of action' for IPv6

A recommendation to the European Parliament regarding implementation and support for IPv6 addresses clearly states that legislators should, pretty soon, most definitely, whenever they can, do something.

System Specs

Yeah, anything they can claim a ton of expenses for.

It seems pretty much inevitable that there is going to be a train wreck of massive proportions before anything gets sorted.

One basic piece of logic is that HTTP, passive FTP, POP3 and SMTP should be 100% usable with IPv4 servers gatewayed to IPv6 clients, while IPv4 clients could be supported through a NAT router with IPv6 WAN side and IPv4 LAN side - in fact, there seems little need to deploy IPv6 on the LAN side of a NAT router at all.

One major aggravation with anything that looks like a proxy or NAT (like an IPv6-IPv4 gateway), is when servers limit activity by address, though IPv6 upgrades there would eliminate the gateway.
