New York State's "Amazon Tax" Means the End is Nigh

As I filled out my California income tax this year, I laughed when I came upon the "Use Tax" section. Did I buy anything from out-of-state retailers that I owed California sales tax for? Of course I didn't! But whether or not I did, New York state is close to closing that loophole for its residents with the so-called "Amazon Tax."

The US is behind the ball on this one. Most places institute sales tax based on where you're ordering from, when ordering from inside the country.

While I love not having to pay tax on the internet it will not last for long.

One day we will be forced to pay lol since its a big money maker for the state. Once the internet buying really starts to get huge is the time we will see it.

If they can't deal with the money they have now. What makes them think that taxing more will help? I'm glad I don't live in NY. Property tax is bad enough there.
