Nvidia and VIA partnership confirmed

After initial rumours of possible Nvidia buyouts and partnerships, the truth has finally been revealed.

During a financial analyst meeting on Thursday, Nvidia showed off what they call "The worlds most affordable Vista Premium PC". There's even a picture of a board clearly showing a Nvidia Chip and various smaller VIA bits...

Qute logical....

Intel have CPU and chipset with onboard graphics

AMD/ATI have CPU and chipset, with onboard and graphics cards.

Nvidia had chipsets, onboard graphics and cards, but no CPU.

VIA had chipsets, onboard graphics, looks like the cards never gained popularity, and a CPU.

It was looking pretty inevitable that Nvidia would have to develop, buy in or partner with someone having an x86 CPU.

VIA have been doing a LOT of work on mini-ITX, as well as on chipsets usually seen on lower end systems.

A VIA CPU, VIA support chipset and Nvidia IGP could be a potent combination at the budget end.

nvidia's igp is probably more powerful then the combine power of via's entire chipset and cpu..

wonder if via will make the igp and nvidia the cpu

guess nv has decided they want to carve out a niche in the very nottom of the perf/quality market. via has skd for years imo. even when they had viable products they were bottom tier.
