Will we ever see an iPhone killer?

Ever since Apple first showed its iPhone in January of 2007, cellphone makers appear to have accelerated their innovation efforts to create new types of phones or at least phones that offer the same appeal as the iPhone. This year’s CTIA tradeshow revealed that the iPhone will remain the benchmark of a mass market smartphone, while all other manufacturers are still catching up. But they are learning and are getting closer.

I am sure we will get a few!

Its a huge business. Why would they not make something better than it?

The iphone still does not have 3G right? But I was told that's coming in the new few months.

No 3G for iPhone.. It is the biggest minus in here

I was told that same thing about iPhone when it came to Europe. It looks like Apple has some issues with the 3G chip eating too much battery power ...

It would be nice if Verizon had the iPhone available. I would have gotten one, or would get one if it was available.

3G will be available with rev.2 of the iPhone is my understanding. this new revision is supposed to come out late 2008 is what i'm hearing.

IMO, any smartphone has a short battery lifespan if using 3G features.

Well if I wouldn't use my N95's multimedia features and WLAN the battery would be good for few days but since I use them I usually change the battery when I get up, it takes 1 to 1.5 hours to get full battery

lol, my N95 can do that and use m4a acc and arm formats too

and there is rumors that there will be wma update coming in Q3

holographic touch screen? hahaha... and 3G will be coming to the iPhone. Its a very powerful device, I have an iPod touch and used the iPhone many times. There is a reason RIM should be scared.
