I bought one of these babies and haven't been impressed so far. It kept giving read-only errors until I reformatted. Then just today it wasn't re-recognized after a reboot (got the old "USB device has experienced an error" message. Had to power it off and on to get it recognized again.

I've only had it for about a week, too. We'll see as time goes on.

return it iria..

it's obviously faulty..

I've had 3 freeagent drives.. one of which is a 500gb that i use for my business and i've NEVER had a hitch/glitch...issue..

Just whatever you do, never leave on plugged in and then boot off and install windows vista, something unique happens where vista starts imposing it's own UAC system and file attributes to an already present file system. I had to copy everything off the drive because vista somehow managed to get it's fist wrapped around it so badly that it just started driving me nuts for everything and everything i wanted to do to it. (saveing document files to the source on the hd resulted in write protection restriction imposed.... oddly)

anyways..

it's just as easy as use as the OCZ flash drive i've got.. plug it in... and go.

been using it over a year now.

Judas, this problem you are talking about, only happens if you have the drive plugged in and then proceed to install Vista?
