Forget AMD, Intel should buy Nvidia
AMD stock is in the tank right now, so proposals have been circulating they might be an acquisition target. However this combination makes no sense to me, and it took me a while to figure out why. Intel should be the one buying, and they should be buying Nvidia.
Nvidia is basically a fab-less operation. They design the chips but outsource the manufacturing. Intel is king of the fabs. Nobody, with the possible exception of IBM, can touch their fab technology lead at this point in time. Source: ZDnet

Considering it took awhile for Nvidia to reap the benifits of it's acquisition of 3Dfx I doubt Intel would have a better time coping with an acquisition of Nvidia. I swear people think technology is developed in a couple of months.
