Why is it that we all keep coming back to the countless forums we frequent? Are the abusive members worth putting up with to have access to the rest?

The biggest problem is, lies. If someone just spreads lies, it can be hard to control yourself, thus making yourself look like an angry ape. How would you react if instead of a forum that was a face to face conversation and you knew that the law wouldn't do anything to stop either the other guy from spreading lies or yourself if you reacted violently?

I don't miss the days of competitive gaming one damn bit. For years I dealt with every category of A Hole (as a ladder admin and top player) plus been one myself and the cycle just keeps on going with more whiny racist kids logging on and then those kids become pros and they get bitched at by the next batch of kids...

Singleplayer gaming is where it's at,though I even had kids on youtube insult my skills in singleplayer games as if it were some kind of competition to be good at Oblivion

I only go to forums like DH for gaming tech help anything else is asking for trouble.

I long ago gave up on multiplayer games because of the idiots. I have no patience for them, and as a result, I've probably missed out on a lot of good games. My 360 isn't even hooked up to the network anymore since I built a media center PC, and don't bother to stream anymore.

Sounds like people have lost their grip on reality a bit. As if, in person, we don't normally need to engage with a-holes on a day to day basis. The thing is, in a game, you read the "general" chat and think it applies to you, and thus choose to respond to it.

But really, it's similar to that a-hole driving down the street screaming at random people on the sidewalks. If you choose to engage with him, and write down his / her license plate and go over to their house... then you can't really say that reality is such a bummer.

It's your choice to engage with a-holes in multiplayer games. There's always another server, another set of players, and an ignore feature (Both built into us and in the game). Other than that, you can always just leave all the chats and go to a Low population RP Normal server (If you're playing WoW) and sit, and play alone.
