Ubuntu founder: Ubuntu to replace Windows

Indianapolis (IN) - During a phone conference today, Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth made the comment that he's seeing Ubuntu move into spaces which are not just horizontal migrations away from UNIX or other Linux distributions. He's actually seeing Ubuntu as a cost-effective and viable out-of-the-box alternative OS on new machines, even as a Windows replacement. He believes Ubuntu is solidly on the map, here to stay.

Make publishers publish games also on Ubuntu and I will install it.

Thats not gonna happen for quite some time. DirectX is a staple for most developers these days, it'll take quite a while to get them to all switch over to OpenGL and OpenAL for their coding. Once that happens though all bets are off.
