Sprint Cancels Soldiers' Cell Phones

Source: BetaNews
__________
The struggling carrier was exposed last week for attempting to get rid of accounts that it claimed were calling its customer service lines too frequently. An undisclosed number of customers were told their service will be cancelled on July 30.

However, it now appears another group of people are being told their Sprint service will be dropped on that day -- those who frequently roam outside the company's own network. About 200 of these happen to be U.S. Army soldiers, according to a post to SprintUsers.com.

Looks like, based on the SprintUsers.com forum post, this may be resolved ... though it appears Sprint can still wheedle its way out if it really wanted to ...

Sprint is way over priced anyways, I have been using nTelos for the past 4 years and I couldn't be happier with there service and rate plans.

bug77 is on a distinguished road

At least they have competiton so you can switch. Over here we only have two carriers (and two forever wannabes, so nobody may cry duopoly).

EcPercy will become famous soon enough

I read through the forum posts and one person pointed out that the Sprint TOS states that you will not roam more than 50% of the time and the military person was roaming 100% of the time....

Sprint has a TOS, but kicking hundreds of customers to the curb doesn't sound like good business to me.

Don't these people pay for the extra roaming anyway? I don't understand why Sprint would have a problem with that.
